Get Involved » United Japan Tohoku Relief

Jesus Lifehouse, United Japan will continue the relief effort, but the last week for accepting volunteers for 2011 will be 28th week of November.
We are now discussing the dates for the continuation of volunteer teams for 2012.

However, especially in the winter season, we will be interacting with the local people, to find out their needs. Depending on what is needed, there is a possibility that the next volunteer schedule will start early. We will update this website with the appropriate information, so please check back here.

A great project: Tohoku Relief Homestay. Around 200 Japanese students who were directly effected by the disaster in Northern Japan, will embark on a homestay in America, Australia or New Zealand!

Jesus Lifehouse has teamed up with a group of churches to form United Japan. Volunteers from the different churches will travel to Tohoku each week and stay from Monday to Friday to help with clean up efforts and relief. If you are interested in joining a team please contact us.

Please check out updates to this project at

One local citizen said:
‘We thought that young people these days only think about themselves. But we saw so many young people come a long way to help us. We have never met young people who are committed like this, but now we know that young people care about others too. So, thank you!’

There is so much we can do! Your contribution might be a little help, but our help can also give hope to the people of Tohoku.
As United Japan, we are committed to continue this relief work.
